Election not declared inconclusive in my polling unit – Ogun Speaker
The Speaker of Ogun State House of Assembly, Olakunle Oluomo, has said the result of another polling unit in his Ifo constituency and not his own polling unit was declared inconclusive during Saturday’s election.
Oluomo who is seeking re-election to the assembly on the platform of the All Progressives Congress said that contrary to the reports that the results in his polling unit were cancelled, the polling unit of the Peoples Democratic Party candidate, Sikirulahi Ogundele, was declared inconclusive
The Independent National Electoral Commission announced the cancellation of the results in unit 04 of Ifo ward 01 due to over voting
The Speaker’s Special Assistant on Media, Gafar Adeleye, in a statement on Monday, said the speaker voted at unit 19, ward 3, but the election was cancelled at unit 4, ward 0
He explained that the unit where the election was cancelled was one of the three units at the voting center of Ogundel.
He stated “the speaker recorded massive votes from his constituents and is already leading with a total of 968 votes across the Constituency.
“Mr Speaker is comfortably leading and is not in any way perturbed by the inconclusiveness of the election.
